Murter Lateen Sail Regatta
Murter (28.09.2025.)
The Lateen Sail Regatta "Latinsko idro" was organised for the first time in 1998 as a part of the Feast of St. Michael, the patron saint of the Parish of Murter. To the inhabitants of Murter this regatta gives a perfect chance to step back in time, away from modern and sophisticated sails. The event has a rich cultural, educational and entertainment programme, including different workshops, presentations, lectures and exhibitions that demonstrate seafaring skills.
The culmination of the week is the regatta itself, displaying the old sailing ways of the past times. The awards for the best competitors are unique, supporting the main principles of the regatta, i.e. originality, youth, experience and honour, being called "the sail", "the paddle", "the wheel" and so on.
